The Pull cast for Athleta's Power of She platform which celebrates women around the world who are empowering others through fitness and social impact. For the Spring Summer films, we chose to highlight the I Am Water Foundation in Cape Town, South Africa because many of the 3.75 million locals fear the ocean due to limited interaction with it. The Pull facilitated Athleta's partnership with record-breaking free diver Hanli Prinsloo and her foundation, I AM WATER, to help create a brighter future for the women and girls there through transformative ocean experiences.
For the second installment of the films, non-profit organization GirlVentures was chosen for its commitment to building self-confidence in young girls through backpacking, hiking, and rock climbing. But that’s only part of the trip. Through a specialized curriculum, the girls also learn skills and make self-discoveries that they take back home with them where they live more confidently, have stronger voices, and build healthy relationships.
